Little Miss Independent

I never imagined that taking a child's nursery apart could be soooo emotional!! While I sat on the floor taking the crib apart, I realized Kennadi wasn't such a baby anymore. In fact, she's now Little Miss Independent doing things her way! Seems like yesterday when we brought our Angel home from the hospital all bundled up in our arms. It's a funny thing how one minute can be full of so much happiness, yet is filled with a tinge of sadness at the same time. Kennadi brings so much joy & happiness into our lives daily. I just wish there was a slow motion button that I could push to slow down the time. (except on those days when her headstrong personality gets the best of her! ☺ Our Little Miss Independent is now 29 months & continues to bring love & laughter into our ♥s.

God has blessed my husband and I with beautiful & healthy kids that are our everything and I'm thankful for them all! Here's a few pictures of our beloved Kennadi!

Why I'm Thankful

I am thankful for God's gift of life each day that I rise & am able to be a part of the world. I am thankful for my wonderful husband, beautiful children, loving family & great friends that God has blessed me with. I am thankful for God's love, grace and mercy which has never failed me or forsaken me. Everything I have comes from God; never will I take for granted the abundance of love and joy he has given me! I’m thankful for all of my failures that I’ve had to endure because I now realize had I never failed, I never would have succeeded. When you think back over the year on what all the many blessings God has bestowed in ones life, through the hard times and many good times, there are many ways to be thankful. Life can be hard but through the tears of struggles that fall, one can always draw a sigh of comfort and say "YES I am Blessed"! I sing Praises to him for many things he has delivered me through and for being my light & salvation when I needed him most. Everyday is a blessing and it's sad some of us do not acknowledge it. Please remember to give thanks this Thanksgiving and know that your blessings comes from the man above!

Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

Have A Happy Thanksgiving!
~May God Bless~

Remembering Our Veterans on 11 Nov 09

When America had an urgent need,

These brave ones raised a hand;
No hesitation held them back;
They were proud to take a stand.

They left their friends and family;
They gave up normal life;
To serve their country and their God,
They plowed into the strife.

They fought for freedom and for peace
On strange and foreign shores;
Some lost new friends; some lost their lives
In long and brutal wars.

Other veterans answered a call
To support the ones who fought;
Their country had requirements for
The essential skills they brought.

We salute each and every one of them,
The noble and the brave,
The ones still with us here today,
And those who rest in a grave.

So here’s to our country’s heroes;
They’re a cut above the rest;
Let’s give the honor that is due
To our country’s very best.

Prayer For Those Killed and Injured Today!

Heavenly Father,
I come to you asking that you would comfort the family and friends of the victims of the Fort Hood shootings. Meet each of these people at the point of their need and speak the words they need to hear in order to be comforted at this moment. Let the families and friends bind together and be strengthened as they mourn the untimely passing of their loved ones. And for those who are injured, be in the hospital room with them right now. Be at their bedside and hold their hands. Impart healing energy into their room and do what you do best as Jehovah Rophe, the God who heals stitch by stitch. Be with their loved ones who are in hospital waiting rooms awaiting news. Be with the doctors who will treat them, giving those doctors knowledge, wisdom and discernment. Let everyone who will and can pray for the recovery of those who are wounded, the comfort of those who are mourning and even the remorse for the shooters. I pray all of these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, Amen.
Please share!

Kids Are Born Innocent, Be Kind To Them Till They Grow

We are all born kids first and then grow into adults; not the other way round? So, when kids are growing and learning in the process, we, elders tend to get irritated at each and everything they do. But, why so? The following are some of those mistakes parents often commit, mostly unknowingly.

Don’t expect miracles from your kids: Though your dad might have earlier behaved in such a manner as to show you that it indeed works, psychologically it’s not accepted because kids don’t feel good. They may oblige but it’s only to satisfy you. Moreover, commands simply don’t work because it means not only too much work load but also he/she may have her/his own version or style of executing the job. This style of parenting only causes more headaches for you. We refuse to understand the simple fact that we were once kids ourselves having gone through the same process of growth.

Why we expect miracles from our siblings when we had earlier gone through a similar process ourselves? This is one of the few mistakes first-time parents unknowingly commit and then regret over it. In order to avoid making such a folly, the following guidelines are drawn for that purpose.

Don’t ever show yourself as a busy parent: Always take time to appreciate your kids as much as you criticize. When you appreciate them repeatedly, even if it is a minor feat, kids will get to know that you are sincerely doing so. That way you can notice them copying you, which is a healthy sign. There are several tips that will make good for parenting but the above guidelines must be followed by parents if they are to see the kind of children they dream.

Well, I was finally able to decide on our new shipping fee. As of Oct 1st we will began charging $3 on all purchases. As promised, I kept the cost down to make it affordable for our loyal customers, whom I deeply appreciate. I'd also like to apologize for not being able to blog as often. new chapter....

I've had a very long but fantastic week, just glad it's finally Friday. I was able to get so much accomplished this week although my 2yr old was home with me...she actually cooperated!!
Well, some of you may have already noticed that Babbles N Bibs now has a fan page which I'm super excited about. We've moved our pictures related to the boutique over to the fan page and will continue to add more. This move was done so that I could share more personal comments and pictures on my Ge Babbles page so that people could get to know me as a individual. I hope to add pictures of myself and the family very soon!

I'm super thrilled to say that Babbles N Bibs new Facebook campaign kicked off @8am this morning; can't wait to get some feedback! I'm also equally thrilled and looking forward to the new chapter of my life beginning on Monday....I'm going back to school!!! With that being said, I've decided I will also continue pushing forward in hopes of making Babbles N Bibs a brand name; it's always been my dream. (I'm in it to win it) Surely my hands will be full, but my best work is done while working under pressure. I realize we sometimes we have to begin new chapters in our lives if we're wanting our dreams to come true. Thankfully the man in my life....as Whitney says " treats me like a million dollar bill". His ongoing love & support and the love & strength I get from God is what keeps me going, and for that I know I'm truly blessed. I'm also thankful for my family and friends that continue to show me love and support. Thank you all!!!

The best is yet to come!
Luv Ya,
Ge Babbles

btw my weight loss STILL remains at 36lbs. So, I've decided to get back into my size 6 by X-Mas. If anyone is willing to take the challenge with me, please let me know...I'm starting Monday w/or w/out you gotta drop 20.

good news...bad news..

good news first....

Finally finished up on some of my new items...WOOHOO!! Thankfully my handsome son has volunteered to help me get the pics uploaded onto the site throughout the week. (he's so helpful) In addition to my new creations, we will also be adding new products and brands, can't wait!

bad news....

Free shipping will end on 30 Sept. due to the cost of packaging material and supplies. I'm very thankful for the sales we generated in August after launching the campaign and I'll do everything to keep the cost as low as possible when it begins on
1 Oct. At this point, I'm still contemplating on what the new set shipping charge will be. I will post it on here before it goes into effect.

Thanks everyone for your continued support and patience but most of all your prayers!

It's our Anniversary!!

I thank God for my man and for bringing him into my life.... I married my best friend and soul mate many years ago. You know you've been with someone for a long time when you can finish their sentences for them or when you both are having the same thought simultaneously. Through the years we've had ups and downs as many do, but we've remained strong and unified. We always remember that God brought us together and he will keep us together as long as we keep our faith in him. We're planning to celebrate this special day in Austin by shopping, enjoying some of our favorite food(seafood) and catching a movie. Thank goodness we have a sitter for the entire day!!! ( THANKS MEAGAN, we owe you)

Happy Anniversary Boo!!!

I'm back.....

It feels GREAT to be home..... there is no place like home!! We had a wonderful time in DC and Virginia and were able to do just about everything we planned except for eating at Ben's Chili Bowl. (it was already closed)
Now that I'm back, I feel energetic as ever and looking forward to finally getting some of my many anticipated projects finished. Meanwhile, I'm also considering taking Babbles N Bibs into another direction while keeping our main focus on children.

Back to Normal

It's been a while since I last blogged, so let me start off by saying "THANK YOU" to all the folks that ordered the July 4Th tutus and other items! June was a busy month and things are now beginning to get back to normal. We shipped our last July 4Th tutu set out on yesterday. (Woo hoo!!) Also, I'm currently working on new tutu's that will make their debut later in July. We will post the photo's at that time. (wouldn't want my idea to be "featured on other sites" to soon.)

~~~In the news~~~~ that's right babblesnbibs.com is featured in this month online edition of The Family Groove. Be sure and check us out at:
On the personal side* We will be taking a short family vacation beginning tomorrow and will be returning late Sunday. I'm so excited about staying on the beach since this is something we've always done in the past each year before Kennadi's birth. This will be my little one's first time on the beach so I'm looking forward to seeing her reaction to the sand and water. I'm also planning to celebrate her 2ND Birthday while we're there so we've invited a few family members to help us celebrate. (I can't wait)
Baby Sleep Safe
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that infants
should sleep on their backs and their cribs be free of loose
bedding. Baby Sleeps Safe provides safety for the infant and peace
of mind for the parents.
This unique, advanced sleep pouch for infants has a patented safety
design, which prevents the baby from rolling over on its stomach.
The goal of this two-piece, redesigned sleep sack is to help safe
guards against Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by removing all loose bedding from the crib and unlike other sleep sacks, preventing the infant from rolling over on its stomach.However, the
patented design still allows the infant to have movement from side to side to help in development of motor-skill functions.
The Baby Sleep Safe pouch comes in blue, pink, yellow or cream and is available at
www.babblesnbibs.com for $27.95 + s/h. These are perfect as baby shower gifts!
Thank You!
Today we should say Thanks to the U.S Military Men and Women and Veterans that have sacrificed so much to serve our Country by keeping it safe. We should also reflect and remember the service members that are no longer with us as they gave their lives for our freedom. Thank you all and May God Bless each one of you!
I've already thanked my Vet and my daughter whom is currently serving!
Unnecessary Delivery Fee
With Mother's Day quickly approaching, I was able to find some great looking Mother's Day flower's online for under $100.00. After comparing delivery fees on several sites I decided to go with 1800-Flowers because they only charged the one flat fee of $18.99 for Saturday and Sunday deliveries. Before making my decision I checked out several other sites to compare prices and flowers. I came across one flower shop that was going to charge me two separate delivery fees, so I immediately called to get an explanation and was told that depending on the date I needed them, an express delivery fee of $17.95 + their normal delivery fee of $9.99 would be charged. Even after speaking with them, I still didn't have a clear understanding as to why both fees were being charged. Although they had the better looking flowers, I decided not to order from them. I'm very pleased with the flowers I ordered from 1800 Flowers and sure my Mother will love them. Nevertheless, I'm glad I saw the additional delivery fee before finalizing my order. Going forward I will begin checking for hidden fees on all my purchases!!
My Personal Challenge
Here's a little something about me you probably didn't know...
This year I've been tackling one of my biggest personal challenges that many other women my age are facing....WEIGHT LOSS!! It's been almost 2 years since Kennadi was born and I hadn't really stuck to a weight loss program since her birth. Although it seems like I've tried every diet program and pill, none have compared to my self- made program.
Since Feb 6th I've lost a total of 26 lbs. I'm feeling healthier than I've felt in 3
years and my energy level is higher than ever. I must admit that in the beginning I went to a weight loss center for diet pills and a shot. I stayed on their program for a month by eating 1000 calories per day( I was so hungry) and exercising 30 mins 3 times a week. I lost a total of 9 lbs with there help. In the first week of April I decided to try my own diet plan and exercise regiment which actually works best for me. Initially I walked 3 miles a day to help my endurance and build my stamina but I now jog 2 miles and walk 1 mile instead (fast paced) each morning before working on Babbles N Bibs ( orders, inventory, website, etc..) daily task. Anyone that knows me also knows I work in my yard once a week... ( I burn more fat calories)
It's been 4 weeks and I've lost 14 lbs my way; Woo Hoo!!!!! I started my weight loss challenge with a goal of losing 40 lbs by June 22nd.( my Bday) With only 14 more lbs to go I will increase it to 45 lbs....it should be smooth sailing. Stay tuned...I will give you a update in a couple of weeks.
We're finally getting over the flu; seems like it lasted forever. I'm thankful it wasn't the swine flu because I would've hated being the first persons in our area diagnosed with it!!! My baby girl is also feeling better now that she's on a antibiotic for tonsillitis and a cough suppressant. She looks like a sleeping little Angel right now lying next to me. I'm so grateful knowing she's going to get a second night of peaceful sleeping; it's been a while since she had a long night of sleep. It breaks my heart when she's sick because she can't yet tell me what's hurting, I always do my best to make her as comfortable as possible until she gets to feeling better. With years of experience with babies, I believe only a mother can make a baby feel relaxed and soothe them when they're sick. Maybe this is a gift from God that women are given at birth.
I finally got the new items uploaded over the weekend while my hubby held everything together at the home front!( what a man )
Today I spent lots of time babbling to family and friends about some of the featured items, mostly about the tutu's and pettiskirts. I bragged a tad bit on how adorable they are, but I was only being truthful. They are truly made for Princesses! Tutu's and pettiskirts are great for pictures, birthdays, holiday's or dress up. I remember when my little one (Kennadi) put her first tutu on. It was a magical moment I will never forget. She instantaneously began twirling and dancing as most do. The downside of that evening was that she didn't want to take it off.
I think every little girl should have a least one tutu or pettiskirt to make her feel like the Princess she truly is! All tutu's and pettitskirts featured on babblesnbibs.com are handmade and are made with the finest tulle and chiffon. They are also available in many colors.
